DC Comics has announced new Lobo and Trinity of Sin series.

Cullen Bunn and Reilly Brown will tackle Lobo while JM DeMatteis and Yvel Guichet will collaborate on the team book.

Lobo will see the 'real' version of the character facing off against the 'fake' version of the character also introduced in the New 52 continuity.

"The other character, 'Faux-bo' as we've been calling him, will play a role in the book, but it might be a little surprising to readers," Bunn told Comic Book Resources.

"Lobo has been hunting Faux-bo for a while now. That hunt will reach its conclusion pretty quickly. We'll be looking into why someone might steal Lobo's identity as the series progresses."

Trinity of Sin will be a team book following on from the Pandora and Phantom Stranger ongoing series ending in August.

It will also feature The Question, rounding off the trio that is closely tied to the history of the rebooted DC Universe.

"The first arc is six issues." said DeMatteis. "Without getting into too much detail, the story has to do with the lone survivor of an antediluvian Dark Age who intends to literally bleed the sin out of the Trinity and use it to unleash a spell that will transform the world. The Trinity, of course, set out to stop him.

"But these three aren't a team: Their vast differences, their mutual antagonisms, get in the way - and they fail. Miserably. The world we know is wiped out of existence. The Dark Age rises again. And things only get worse from there."

Lobo #1 will be released on October 1. Trinity of Sin will also arrive in October.
