Gamers had their first look at the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday.

An official trailer was released as well as a deep-dive video into the gameplay and new features in the highly anticipated video game, which is scheduled to be released on October 25.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will feature a new campaign set in the Gulf War era. The trailer included clips of public remarks from former Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton in addition to gameplay footage.

In a release, the game's storyline was described as "a spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops."

At the time of its launch, the game will have 12 new maps for six-on-six battles and four new strike maps for multiplayer gameplay. The game will also feature the long-awaited return of round-based Zombies mode with two new maps, which is sure to excite longtime fans of the Call of Duty franchise.

Preorders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are available at participating retailers, platform stores and CallOfDuty.com. More details about the game and its new features are expected to be revealed over the coming weeks on the official Call of Duty blog.
