MONDAY NIGHT RAW: Shayna Baszler Reveals Why She Turned on Ronda Rousey
On the July 3rd episode of USA Network’s, WWE Monday Night Raw, fans finally got some answers as to what caused the shocking turn of events between now former tag champs Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler on last weekend’s Money in the Bank on Peacock from O2 Arena in London.
During their match-up, while defending their titles against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, Baszler went postal and started beating up her own partner, Rousey, and then left her defenseless in the ring. Ultimately, Rousey was pinned by Morgan and the two lost their titles.
With no answers as to why the betrayal by Baszler, news items came to light that Rousey is planning on leaving the WWE shortly, perhaps after SummerSlam, and wanted to give her best friend, Shayna Baszler, a big push before she makes her exit.
Now, on the Monday Night Raw’s segment featuring “The Baddest Woman on the Planet”, Rousey came to the ring to address the fans and to call out Baszler. However, Baszler cut her off after Rhonda demanded an explanation.
Shayna addressed her and angrily spouted (in a great promo, by the way) that the only thing she owed anyone was an apology for her part in getting Rousey involved in pro wrestling anyway! Baszler went on to say how hard she worked and scraped to get to where she was in the business, and paid her dues, whereas Rousey just showed up, main-evented and got put right on the fast track to WrestleMania because of her superstar status in MMA, wrestling and as a sports personality. For good measure, Bazler told Rousey she ruined wrestling for her, and is glad that she is the one person who could finally shut her up.
An all-out brawl began when Rousey attacked Baszler, but the “Queen of Spades” knee’d Rousey in the face and then promptly left the ring, while Rousey shouted at her that they are not done.
Interestingly, the fans were firmly on Baszler’s side, so it looks like Rousey will still be the heel in all of this, as what looks to be the final feud before Rousey makes another exit from the WWE.
You can watch Baszler’s explanation as to why she turned on her friend and tag partner below.

WWE SummerSlam: Roman Reigns Returns, and Four Titles Change Hands
The “OTC” is back! That’ the Original Tribal Chief in case ya didn’t know… Roman Reigns! This weekend the WWE traveled to Cleveland Ohio for one of their four major premium live events of the year, SummerSlam. The card would reveal several storyline turns that open up the door for massive feuds from the massive betrayals.
However, the biggest pop of the night came at the conclusion of The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa’s match with Universal WWE champion, Cody Rhodes. Returning after a four month hiatus, Reigns came to the ring and delivered a Superman Punch and a spear to ruin his cousin’s chance at winning the title, as well he should after Sikoa created his own version of The Bloodline basically behind Reigns’ back.
As for the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, the best entrance of the night belonged to the champ. Starting from his trailer, Cody Rhodes strode to the Gorilla position with his beloved dog, Pharaoh whose loyalty knows no bounds.. Next, Arn Anderson pops up to let the champ know, “You’ve got friends in places you know, and a few here tonight.”

With Bloodline rules as the set-up for the match it was only a matter of time for all members of The Bloodline to interfere that includes :Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa and finally Jacob Fatu, who injured his leg flying off the top of the ring post through a table along with Rhodes. Cody had Kevin Owens and Randy Orton as backup, who joined the fray only to have the Bloodline take them out. That’s when Reigns return caused the seismic ending with Sikoa out for the count and Rhodes retaining the title.

Gunther vs Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
This match was to be Gunther’s crowning moment, how we got there led to the demise of the Judgment Day. As Gunther and Priest battled it out with Finn Balor at ringside, as Priest was about to pin Gunther 1-2-3 on the 3 count, Balor pulled Gunther’s leg on the rope turning his back on his now former friend (although we saw this was coming for awhile now), Gunther locked in a choke submission after Priest tried to lunge at Balor for his portrayal and is the new WWE World Heavyweight champ.

Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship
Want further proof the Judgment Days as we know is no longer? Just look at the outcome of the this match which by the way was one of the best matches of the night and opened SummerSlam.

After Ripley “dislocated” her shoulder during the match, she slammed it into the announce desk to try and pop back while itr continued to plague her throughout. Eventually, Morgan would sneak attack Ripley with her Oblivion finisher right on the steel chair, just as Dirty Dom distracted the referee and wins the match pinning Ripley. It was then apparent Liv and Dom were in cahoots this whole time. Dom even kisses Liv to rub salt in the wound and Ripley looses her “Dom Dom” to another woman as Dom and Liv walked out of SummerSlam together.

John Cena Announces Retirement from WWE and Farewell Tour Through 2025
The 16-time WWE World Heavyweight champion and motion picture star, John Cena made a surprise appearance on last night’s Money in the Bank premium live event on Peacock. Emanating from the ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto, Canada, Cena came to the ring to make the first of several key announcements.
An emotional Cena told the crowd and the millions watching at home that he is ‘retiring’ from professional wrestling and the WWE. In fact, Cena who always brings a small a towel to the ring that usually reads “never give up” entered the ring with one that said, “The last time is now.”
Leading into last night, John’s WWE career spanned over 23-years, and he is now 47-years-old. Along with The Rock, Cena has become one of the most famous personalities to transition from stardom in the ring to mainstream entertainment.
In the ring, with tears in his eyes, Cena began “Why am I here? Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE.” However, in wrestling there is always a swerve. Cena isn’t going anywhere for at least the next year.

“This farewell, it does not end tonight. It is filled with opportunity. Everybody, Raw makes history next year when it moves to Netflix. I’ve never been a part of Raw on Netflix, that is history. That is a first, and I will be there. And along with that history making first, we are going to build so many unforgettable lasts. The 2025 Royal Rumble will be my last. The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last. And I’m here tonight to announce that in Las Vegas, WrestleMania 2025 will be the last WrestleMania I compete in.”
He concluded his in-ring sentiments with how the fans mean everything. “Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” said Cena. “Thank you so much always, for your voice, because it’s really loud, and for your honesty, because it’s beautifully brutal. And most of all, thank you so much for allowing me to be with you here tonight to let the whole world know that we are planning something unforgettable.”
Following Money in the Bank, Cena led off a press conference where he qualified that his farewell tour doesn’t end at WrestleMania 41 in the spring of next year, but, in fact, he has 30-40 dates already booked to appear on WWE programming, shows and premium live events.
During the press conference, John also clarified, “People say they’re walking away, and two years later they come back. I want to set the record straight right now, I’m done. This is it. If you ever wanted to be a part of this one last time, we’re going to do it as big as we can and we’re fighting everybody and we hope you come enjoy the fun.”
Will the WWE crown Cena one last time with the world title so that he would break the record he shares with Ric Flair as the most decorated champions, and win the championship belt for a record-setting 17th time before he bows out? Stay tuned.

WWE SmackDown: The Rogue ‘Bloodline’ Attack Paul Heyman After He Refuses To Acknowledge Solo Sikoa as the New Tribal Chief
One of the best soap opera storylines is not on daytime, but actually on WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown and last night on the June 28th episode on Fox, the ongoing saga of the Bloodline took yet another major turn.
Since Roman Reigns lost the Universal World Heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 40 to Cody Rhodes, he has been off television and nowhere to be found. In the current story, Reigns’ cousin Solo Sikoa has seized control of the Bloodline in Reigns’ absence.
Sikoa recruited cousins, Tama Tonga, Tonga Lua and Jacob Fatu to his newly run rogue Bloodline. During SmackDown, there was to be an in-ring Bloodline Acknowledgement Ceremony to make Reigns wiseman, Paul Heyman, the wiseman for Sikoa by having him acknowledge him as his Tribal Chief.

Earlier, Sikoa promised Heyman that violet Fatu was not in the building at Madison Square Garden in New York, where the show was broadcast live. Solo told Heyman, he took his advice about Fatu being too violent to be part of the Bloodline. However, he lied, and during the ceremony he joined the other members in the ring while Heyman looked stunned.
Fatu, Tonga and Loa all acknowledged Sikoa as their new Tribal Chief, but Heyman hesitated. He said as much as he loved Solo, he is NOT his Tribal Chief. The crowd at MSG went nuts and stood behind Heyman. However, Sikoa attacked him with a Samoan Spike and ordered Fatu to hit a flying headbutt. Next, the Bloodline put Heyman through a table as the show went off the air. In the digital exclusive that was posted on social media afterwards, Heyman was seen carted out of the arena by ambulance.

Will Roman Reigns come out of hiding, or if he was possibly held hostage somewhere by Sikoa, will he come back and avenge the attack on his wiseman? Is this all leading to ‘War Games’ where the original Bloodine of Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso and maybe even Sami Zayn reunite to take out the younger menacing Bloodline 2.0?Watch what happened below, and then weigh-in via the comment section.
