For me probably some forgotten Adult Swim stuff I don't know if it was real or not like Assy McGee or the Drinky Crow Show. Also pretty sure I caught part of Heavy Metal on Showtime like that. Shit was crazy.

Ron Popeil infomercials ... or that dude that placed tiny ads (ads for what?!) in thousands of newspapers across the country from his one bedroom apartment.

Rerun of an old sitcom, like Good Times, the rerun of the 10 pm news, or if I was on PBS then old DR. Who episodes.

My local channel would show sitcoms and popular shows from the 50s through the 70s. So it could be a range of things like Andy Griffith, beverly hillbillies, Sanford and Son, or Star Trek.

I used to have to get up at 5am for school and would watch the original Star Trek while eating breakfast.

When I was a teenager it would most definitely have been Rage, a music video show that usually ran from about 1am until the morning shows started.

Early teens: Paid programming on some channels. Terrible B-movies on other channels. Static on the rest.

Late teens: Paid programming on some channels. Terrible B-movies on other channels.

Probably whatever infomercial or re-runs of weird, Canadian syndicated TV show Sci-Fi Channel would air at 2:00. I would've been watching Cartoon Network but Adult Swim didn't run on Fridays because of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays at the time. Saturday nights were more my jam for Adult Swim Saturdays and Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Anime programming block on at midnights.

Some old Hanna Barbara cartoons or girls gone wild informercials. When I was passing out, I either watched some shit on cartoon network or one of the AMC, E, or SciFi channels.

Early teens probably Nick @ Night and whatever was on Cartoon Network late at night, I dont think Adult Swim ran on Fridays until much later but I could be mistaken. Late teens probably a bunch of crap from the weird digital cable stations like whatever weird shit they were running on G4/Tech TV like reruns of COPS.

blue seed was about plant monsters destroying the earth unless a girl sacrifices herself to the earth god or sommit

also one character has those spiral glasses

and another is obsessed with what kind of panties the main character is wearing, i think they made a computer program to guess which ones she'd be wearing

classic anime

Actually strike what I said earlier, I probably would have passed out watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien and woke up to whatever the Hell was on NBC at 2:00 AM, usually a repeat of Conan or <shudder> Last Call with Carson Daly.

According to my research, Adult Swim did not add a Friday night slot until 2007 and it had Inuyasha and Futurama. Sounds about accurate.

Rage

A music video show in Australia that ran all night on Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday night it was just all music videos, no hosts or ads, I sometimes stayed up and watched the whole thing then, so it wasn't unusual to fall asleep during parts of it.

I think it still plays all night these days.
