Spoiler for DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #3 by DC ComicsWith an undead war raging across the DC Universe, Lobo just proved that he might be the key to saving everyone. But, in true Lobo fashion, the character is uber-violent in his battle against those infected by the Anti-Life Virus. In DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #3, the antihero murders Hawkman, twisting the turned Justice Society of America's head like a key in a door before ripping it off his body.
In the DCeased universe from Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine, Darkseid has accidentally unleashed the Anti-Life Virus, turning some of the greatest heroes and villains into zombie-like creatures. While readers have seen powerful characters like Darkseid, Superman, and more turn into undead, a cure has recently brought some infected back to life. But, with the virus still spreading rampantly across the galaxy, Lobo is finally emerging, and it turns out the violent antihero might be the key to saving the universe - but first, he's going to bust open some heads.
In DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #3 by Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine, Andy Lanning, and Rain Beredo, the story shifts its focus to a bar in the Rylex System, where Lobo is attacked by a group of Thangarians led by an undead Hawkman (although it may be just a Thangarian soldier and not the former hero). Despite getting scratched by the Hawkman, Lobo isn't turned undead, as his unique physiology prevents him from joining the Anti-Living. In response to the winged JSA hero for scratching him, Lobo grabs his head and twists it before ripping it off his body. Lobo steals the Thangagrian's wings and uses them to crash the ship he arrived from.
Lobo Might Be Key To Saving The DC Universe
Since Lobo wasn't turned after being scratched by Hawkman, it appears likely that he will be one of the answers to saving the DC Universe from the Anti-Life Virus in DCeased. If heroes can somehow use his DNA to make themselves invulnerable, it would be a great weapon in their fight against the undead. But, Lobo traditionally hasn't been one to cooperate with heroes, even in the face of the universe's destruction.
The brutal killing of the Thangarian Hawkman is one of the most violent moments thus far in the DCeased series that illustrates how important Lobo could be in the fight against the undead. Will Lobo help the greatest heroes on Earth against the potentially universe-ending threat? Or will he continue to march to beat to his own drums and let the world burn? Readers will find out more soon, as DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #3 from DC Comics is in stores now.
