Among the brands that stood out at the event, two Colombian brands, Piel Canela and Acquerello, excelled with their innovative designs. Their participation in Miami Swim Week has been a significant milestone for both brands. With their focus on sustainability, innovative designs, and a deep commitment to quality, they have demonstrated that Colombian fashion has much to offer the world.

Piel Canela

Piel Canela is a sustainable swimwear brand that has been in the market for eight years. Its primary focus is on designing pieces for all body types, ensuring that women feel beautiful and confident every time they wear one of its creations. Additionally, their prints are carefully selected to be suitable for the entire family, including men.

Ana Taborda, the founder of Piel Canela, shared her experience at Miami Swim Week. Regarding the importance of participating in the 20th anniversary of Miami Swim Week, Taborda expressed immense pride and gratitude for being selected by Inexmoda, who recognized the high export potential of her brand and invited her to participate in Miami Swim Week. Taborda described this experience as unforgettable.

The 2024 summer collection, “UNIVERSO PLAYERO,” is inspired by the evolution of the universe. “The first print, called Big Bang, is full of color and represents the explosion of colors, ideal for women who love vibrant and colorful designs,” explained Taborda. Additionally, the collection includes classic but different prints, suitable for the entire family, highlighting the inclusive focus of the brand.

The reception of Piel Canela’s new collection at Miami Swim Week was positive, with praise for the vibrant prints and designs. Ana mentioned that several sales were already being made and that they would continue their presence at the Wanitta store in Wynwood, Miami, for two more months along with the other brands that participated in this event, testing the market and expanding their reach.

Acquerello

Acquerello is a swimwear brand for women who love colorful prints. The garment silhouettes are simple and of high quality. Daniela Buitrago, founder and designer of Acquerello, shared her excitement at participating in this world-class event. The brand had been preparing for a month to showcase its 2024 collection at Miami Swim Week.

Acquerello’s 2024 collection is a tribute to the sun. “The sun holds great significance for us. It’s even represented in our logo. We wanted to pay homage to the sun, with prints that resemble a story, showcasing different shapes and colors of sunrise and sunset,” explained the designer. The collection reflects Acquerello’s essence with abstract prints, vibrant colors, and unique brushstrokes. This collection will be available to the public in July of this year.

Daniela hopes that participating in Miami Swim Week will increase Acquerello’s visibility and growth. “I try not to have too many expectations, but we really hope that people visiting the Wanitta store in Miami will be delighted. The store is located in Wynwood, a neighborhood with a lot of art, which excites us a lot,” she explained.
