Hi folks!

Today I’m going to explain why my blog call ” Alternative Society”.

This term is part of a philosophy supported by Raul Seixas based on the writings of British occultist Aleister Crowley and his Law of Thelema: “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law”.

Basically this theory tells people not to worry about the opinions of others and act how they judge to be right. Be free of prejudice and and any type of discrimination. Do whatever you want. Dont be afraid to be yourself

Raul Seixas was a  Brazilian singer and songwritter his musical style is unique it’s mix of rock’n roll, rockabilly, baião, country, folk and blues.

Raul was interested in philosophy (especially metaphysics and ontology), psychology, history, literature and Latin and some beliefs of these currents were much enjoyed in his work, which had a good reception of curiosity or because of that.

He was born in Salvador – Bahia in 1945 and he died in 1989.

How Have I find out?

My parents used to listen to Raul Seixas all the time. Since I was 10 I started to like his songs but I haven’t understood his message in that time.

So one day I was seat with my father and Raul’s tunes was playing and I was singing loud and my father asked me what Raul was trying to say in the music

I said I don’t know and my father started to explain his philosophy, history and culture. I never will forget that day.

Even without enough knowledge one thing I knew that music makes me feel alive and free sometimes depressed.Lol

Since then I listened to him and wrote in a paper and tried to figure out what his trying to say to me.

I’ve never told it to anyone but in some way I try to make his utopy real in my life in small things.

It’s unbelievable how his music is still alive and so update in these days. This man is visionary and besides that He had a different view He could understand things that anyone even have imagine in life as Renato Russo and Zé Ramalho. That’s why they call him Maluco Beleza – Crazy Cool and Rock’s fathers.

This legend makes me feel proud of to be Brazilian!

That’s it! Viva Viva Viva Alternative Society!
