Jesus Christ what the fuck am I doing with my life nowadays.

Hey guys, Did you knew that if your show has a big rating then your allowed to put on the screen whatever the hell you want. Use this opportunity to write off a mature story or commentary that typical TV-Y7 would’t offer? Yeah, fuck that indeed. The biggest thing with shows that suppose to apply to adults is the desperate want to throw all extreme vulgarity in your face, regardless if it has actual justification in the story or not. There are some exceptions when this inadequate nature works fine if you put actual thoughts and flavor into the humor, but at it’s downsides it’s nothing more than a pain. Brickleberry, by not real competition if I being honest, is the worst example of how shock factor could got too far to overstay any given welcome to the point where it’s unbearable on consistent basis. Despite having a premise about National Park and it’s Rangers, this show hardly does anything with given point beyond arguably first few episodes. Instead, it’s all the most outdated, lowbrow comedy that tiers to be as offensive and stereotypical as humanity able to get. Racism, violence and rapping are the 3 things that shows obsess over and portray as pinnacle of comedy, and it wouldn’t been bad at it’s own if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s main... oh, my bad, O N L Y type of comedy that show rely on. There’s no sense of variety or timing put into comedy, things just put into the episodes nonstop without thinking if they are any clever or not. After watching first episode I predicted at least 90% of the "jokes" in the rest of the series because of how one-note they are at that. If there’s an child or cripple on the screen, of course he will be brutally murdered right after because this is so EDGY, it’s doesn’t even offend me as it’s just pathetic attempt to crack a cheap laugh out of this source, and here it’s on the screen every single minute. I don’t think even Adult Patty Cartoon tried to gross you out that badly despite being dreadful as hell. I would’ve said something about plots instead, but there’s none, or at least they entirely build themselves out of the garbage shock factor that comedy standing for. From ideas that are just stupid like showing hillbillies being hillbillies for 22 minutes, there’s an episodes that became straight up pretentious with their stereotypes like Gay Bomb and Race Off! Both of those episodes are nothing but the repeat of the same unfunny joke without trying to make it clever, or at least juts the other way from any other show from the same category. Squabbitsis possibly the only episode that had legitimately interesting idea, but it wasted all it’s potential on the same awful comedy and some really stupid plotholes (like how episode said that Squabbit can’t be destroyed from the outside, but then on random moment he was cut by exe because we need to move conflict further). There’s so little substance in those episodes, that a lot of them has not just one, but two subplots. For the most part they also exist to field the dirt, but it’s also gets worse by the pacing of B and/or C plots being so slow that they doesn’t go anywhere til the last minute, or have no development whatsoever to that matter. The finale straw was the way how show used cutaway based humor. It’s already obvious that Brickleberry blatantly tired to be another Family Guy clone, but this one doesn’t even understand how cutaways supposed to work by structuring them incorrectly. For example, there’s a scene where character said that "some idiot" killed parents of the character he talked to, and right after episode throw a cutaway where the same character kills them. The delivery is so in-your-face and forced that it made no sense by the context of the conversation, and that are pretty much very second cutaway in it. Maybe characters could’ve help to balance horrible comedy and writing, but they aren’t any better. Steve, supposedly the main character, is completely ignorant and obnoxious moron who never able to shut up, but what is the funniest part is that he is the least awful character from the cast. The very first episode tried to show him as the worst one in the group by making him an insufferable asshole, but with next few episodes literally every single character started to act the same, and if anything, Steve is the least aggressive out of all of them. Danzel? Started out as a semi-reasonable guy to overwork Steve’s stupidly, but quickly abandoned everything in flavor to field himself with drags and bang elders. Ethel? First episode tried to show her as a competent ranger that ties to improve on her past flaws juts for next episodes showing her murdering animals. Woody? He’s acts just like Steve all the time, only more aggressive on any subject, while also being pathetic at the same time. Malloy is nothing more but a diet Stewie Griffin, he has no personality traits other than making situation worser out of nothing. But what is weirder is that some episodes randomly down him out of nowhere, like when he suddenly started to care about his dead parents in The Animals Strike Back just for the ending of the episode making nothing out of that, or in Write 'Em Cowboy he inexplicably lost all his edginess out of nowhere. Connie, despite being show’s punching bag, also ended up portraying as a horrible person. Despite on the surface show says that she is kind and carrying, half of the time she came across as an aggressive stalker with extremely grating voice. I’m not a fan of complaining about characters being dicks and stuff, but when literally every single one always acts the same way, there’s no chemistry in the cast to make them an actual characters, instead, all of them are one dame puppets who contradict their already one-note personalities for the sake of unfunny subversion. To cover all this up, visually this show looks like vomit. Thin outlines that looks extremely poor, stiff models that make HD Family Guy looks like a work or art, and of course everything gross needs to be over-detailed for no reason, while actual backgrounds looks extremely flat and hollow because of that. And how not forget my favorite part: the close up of vagina from Old Wounds that was repeated 4 times in a row, because this is what I deserved for trying to watch this show.

Brickleberry is pretty much like your 10 year old brother who accidentally heard about slurs on the street and started to use them on consistent basis by thinking that they will make him look cool, while having no understanding of what they actually mean. I really can’t say that this binge was any pleasant to me, it’s definitely not the first time I’ve went through this type of television, but it’s by far the most effortless and revolting at that. There’s no variety, taste, or simple respect for both characters or audience to see. All you’d have is 36 half hours of failure that tries way too hard to be over the top with its wild behavior by not having a single clue what it’s trying to accomplish. At best, for each 50 (not exaggerating with number btw) jokes that failed miserably, theres can be 1 that ain’t half-bad or maybe even well structured, but given how nearly all of the jokes and characters are so abysmal and intolerable, it doesn’t make it up whatsoever. Don’t watch this show in any case, unless if you legitimately hate yourself or want to see the true Bottom of the Barrel. I heard that Paradise PD is pretty much the same thing as this show, and I really not surprised by looking at it’s clips. Who knows, maybe I’d watch it the other day if I’d want to shortcut my lifetime for 10 more years. But as for now I really need to recover my sanity, because I don’t think I ever eye rolled that often during my binges.
