Fourth Wall Jokes are recurring jokes in Brickleberry, wherein characters will acknowledge that they're in a TV show.
Instances[]
Squabbits[]
- Woody alerts Steve that an animal-rights organization called "PiTA" is attacking them. Steve assumes he means PETA but Woody tells him that it's spelled with an "I" so they can't get sued as he looks to the camera.
Trailer Park[]
- Bobby, BoDean, Firecracker Jim, and Buella all gather together in the same fashion as the main cast in the intro to the show, complete with the title of the show showing up in the sky, along with the music.
Trip to Mars[]
- Dr. Kurt Thoreau uncovers a conspiracy to Brickleberry National Park, revealing that all government agents are actors. Woody freaks out, knowing that he's a government agent and wonders if he's also an actor. Woody looks into the camera and asks if people are watching him on a screen right now. Woody then realizes that since their show's timeslot is 10:30 on a Tuesday night, there's nobody watching them.
Aparkalypse[]
- The apocalypse happens in Brickleberry, which parallels with this being the season finale. An Indian Chief and a Medicine Man make double-standard comments about how "Brickleberry" is ending, saying that the "Gods" no longer find the show funny, so they're creating a volcano to destroy the park. They also started an online petition to keep Brickleberry running.
- Later in the episode, the Indians watch the park get destroyed and the Chief says "Brickleberry last more season than expected."
That Brother's My Father[]
- Malloy receives a cacao bar from Anita and says directly to the audience "White people. You know what I'm saying?".
Write 'Em Cowboy[]
- Steve plays the into riff to the show on his guitar, segwaying into the very scene.
High Stakes[]
- Malloy says that he hates Daniel Tosh for being a douchebag. Tosh, being Malloy's voice actor, making this self-insulting humor, as Daniel Tosh would have to voice this blow at himself. To add insult to injury, Woody claims to have never heard of Daniel Tosh before.
- Bobby and BoDean are shown in the writer's room, writing the content of the very episode, playing off of how stupid the story's plot is. Bobby assumes that their writing is so good that they'll soon be getting an Emmy. In the writer's room, there are several storyboards with episode ideas for episodes that have been used prior such as "Bare Gets Big", "Make-A-Wish Kid", "Country Songs", "Obama", "Lesbo Golf", "Bobby & BoDean Marry", "Man Goes Crazy 4 Wheel Show", "Bear Writes Porno", "Jim Gets Legs", "Dumb Fella is a Pirate", "Rangers Get Raises", and "Dumb Fella Gets Crippled", as well as a sign that says "Bare Gets 4th Season?", in hopes that the show would get a fourth season.
Global Warning[]
- After telling Ethel the story of how Jesus created the Earth, he says "Cue the theme song", segwaying into the intro.
Armoogeddon, Part 1[]
- Woody lets everybody know that since they're not on Comedy Central anymore, they no longer need to pretend they like the channel.
Paradise PD Meets Brickleberry[]
- A police force called Paradise P.D. gets run out of their namesake town by their corrupt mayor and their leader, Randall, says they'll be hiding out in Brickleberry. When the other cop, Bullet, says that he's never heard of this place, Randall admits that it's not for everybody, especially not TV critics.
- Malloy says that he misses being canceled.
- Denzel recalls everybody getting killed off in the original run's series finale, Global Warning but Steve says that he traveled to the future and saved everybody in the show's posthumous comic book franchise, Amoogeddon, which continued the events of the TV finale. He even mentions Roger Black and Waco O'Guin as the "two hillbilly nerds", who wrote about it. However, Connie denounces this as non-canonical.
- Steve promises to save Brickleberry and everybody laughs at the idea of him doing something so heroic. Denzel asks him where jokes like that were in 2015, (the year Brickleberry's original run got canceled), suggesting that if he had told jokes like that, he'd make the show funny enough for audiences to watch and keep it on the air.
- When Paradise P.D. shows up at Brickleberry, Malloy proclaims that this will be the most unnecessary crossover ever.
- Woody calls Randall's voice annoying, playing off the fact that they're both voiced by Tom Kenny.
- Bullet assures the audience that they'll be hearing a lot of fourth wall jokes in this episode.
- Gina addressed Brickleberry as "Cancelberry".
- Ethel steals Gina's catchphrase, "Twatwaffle" and when she gets called out on it by the latter, Ethel apologizes and says that these guys can't write women.
- Dr. Kuzniak refers to Randall as "Netflix Woody", making a direct reference to this episode airing on Netflix.
- When Paradise P.D. parts ways with Brickleberry, Kevin says that it's going to be sad, knowing that they won't be seeing them again. Malloy assures him that nobody will be seeing them again, by which he means the viewers, given the fact that their show is canceled and is no longer running repeats on their home channel. Connie argues that they're available for streaming on Hulu and Malloy claims that this just proved his point.
