This page of IGNs Marvel's Avenger guide contains the By Force of Mind walkthrough, which sees the Avengers return to San Francisco as they attempt to stop MODOK once and for all.

Mission Description:

To stop AIM's plan to eliminate all Inhumans, the Avengers must return to San Francisco and find the source of the warship's signal.

Captain America

Follow the Warship's Signal to Find Its Source (1)

Having returned to San Francisco in hopes of finding the warship's signal source, follow the objective marker.

Defeat AIM Forces

As you reach the large area, defeat the incoming AIM forces.

Destroy the Force Field Generators (x2)

Using your Tactical Awareness, locate the two force field generators by the large door and destroy them.

Defeat AIM Forces (2)

Having destroyed the generators, defeat the incoming AIM forces in order to continue through the area. You'll encounter several different types of enemies during this section that include: Adaptoids, Dreadbots, Drones, Keeper's Synthoids, and more.Upon defeating the last AIM unit, a cutscene will begin and Captain America will squeeze through the large door as he continues his mission to find the Warship’s Signal.

Follow the Warship's Signal to Find Its Source (2)

With the AIM forces defeated, continue following the objective marker as you make your way through the large building. In order to cross the large gaps between each of the platforms, you will need to activate several switches.

Switch One:

In order to activate the first switch, use Captain America’s Shield to hit the large glowing yellow switch that can be found directly beneath the platform. This will de-electrify the wall, allowing you to cross.

Switch Two:

The second switch can be found when looking in the lower left corner, along the wall. Be sure to time your Shield throw, several crates will move through the area.

Switch Three & Four:

The third and fourth switch can be found beneath the bridge and must be hit after one-another in order for them to activate.

Switch Five & Six:

In order to activate the final two switches, you will need to stand on top of a pressure plate that can be found just in front of the nearby desk. You will find the switches in the upper right and upper left corners of the screen.

Defeat the Phase Riotbot

Shortly after making it out, you’ll come across a small platform that has no path to follow. As a result, a Phase Riotbot will spawn in the area - Defeat him.

Defeat AIM Forces (3)

Having destroyed the Phase Riotbot, defeat the incoming waves of AIM Forces.

Find a Way Across

In order to find a way across, throw Captain America’s shield at the large gas tank that is hanging on the side of the platform. Upon hitting the gas tanks, an explosion will occur, revealing two switches. Activate these switches and a platform will begin to lower.

Follow the Warship's Signal to Find Its Source (3)

After lowering the platform, jump across the gap and follow the objective marker on screen.

Once you reach the top platform, you'll find a shipping container hanging a crane not too far from the edge. Jump across and you'll find a SHIELD crate inside.

As you reach the top of the platform, you'll find a pressure plate on the floor. Stand on the pressure plate and you will two control units will appear. In order to activate them, throw Captain America's shield at the red latch holding the nearby tank in the area.With the tank out of the way, activate the two control units with Cap's shield.

Use the Terminal to Expose the Power Cores

As you reach the next platform, take out the incoming AIM forces before using the access terminal.

Destroy the Signal's Power Cores

Once the terminal has been activated, by pass the incoming AIM forces as you work your way around the platform as you destroy the signal's Power Cores.

Run!

Having destroyed the power cores, run along the large pipe as you jump across the large gaps. As you reach the end of the pipe, a cutscene will begin and it's now time to take on MODOK.

Iron Man

Take out the Thrusters

Playing as Iron Man, it’s now time to take out the four thrusters that can be found beneath MODOK’s hovercraft. You will need to destroy these thrusters in order to reach the next phase.

TIP: If at any point during this final boss battle that you become stuck, simply use your Tactical Awareness in order to highlight the items that need to be destroyed.

Upon destroying two of the four thrusters, MODOK will begin throwing pieces of debris around the area. Using your Ranged attacks, keep your distance and destroy the remaining two thrusters in order to continue.

During this phase, MODOK will fire lasers and homing missiles in your direction, so it’s important that you keep flying around the area to avoid being hit.

Captain America (2)

Destroy MODOK's Terrigen Power Source

After destroying MODOK’s thrusters, help destroy his Terrigen Power Source. In order to get to his Power Source, you must first destroy the large thruster beneath him. After dealing enough damage, he’ll cripple on the ground, exposing his Terrigen Power Source on his back.While crippled on the ground, launch as much heavy damage as possible on the Power Source. After a few attempts, MODOK will reach his next phase.

Despite MODOK’s movement being limited due to losing the thrusters, he will still have the ability to move arms, which happen to be large rotating propellers. On occasion, MODOK will raise his arm at a 90 degree angle and then swing his across the battlefield. This is an unblockable attack and can only be dodged by running close to MODOK to avoid the spinning blade.

Once again, we highly recommend using your Range attacks to destroy MODOK’s thruster as he flies around the platform.

Thor

Call the Bifrost Down on MODOK

Following the damage dealt by Captain America, MODOK will activate his shield, blocking all attacks from Thor. Furthermore, MODOK will have spawned several AIM forces in the area as they try to defend MODOK.

In order to breach MODOK’s shield, begin attacking the AIM forces in order to build your Ultimate Heroic charge - it’s important that you do not receive damage, as this will lower your charge.Once Thor’s Bifrost is ready, activate your Ultimate Heroic ability and place the landing area inside of MODOK’s shield - this will cause a cutscene to occur.

Hulk

Destroy AIM Forces to Release Inhuman Prisoners

Learning the Kamala is in danger, Hulk makes his way to the nearby platform as he works with Kamala to defeat the waves of AIM forces that spawn in the area.Not only will Hulk and Kalama be forced to defeat both Riotbots and self-destructing bots, but also Adaptoids. Work together to defeat the incoming waves of AIM forces and a cutscene will eventually begin.

Black Widow

Destroy MODOK's Crystals

Finally, after defeating the waves of AIM forces with Hulk you’ll now play as Black Widow, who has been tasked with destroying the large crystal on MODOK’s forehead. It is important to note that you can only damage MODOK during this phase when aiming for the crystal, as firing your weapons elsewhere will deal no damage.While shooting at MODOK’s crystal, it’s important to understand his three basic attacks during this phase. His first attack comes in the form homing missiles, which will target you for a period of time. While it is possible to dodge these missiles, it can sometimes be quite hard. Alternatively, shooting the missiles will blow them up.MODOK’s second attack is a large ground wave that rolls from one side of the battleground to the next. As the wave occurs, jump over it as it comes towards you to avoid taking any damage.MODOK’s third and final attack is a Gravity Field, in which he throws robs of gravity around the area. You will want to avoid these orbs at all cost, as getting hit will cause you to lose your ability to move for a short period of time. To break free, you will need to press the indicate button on your screen.

Ms. Marvel

Reach Bruce Banner

With MODOK retreating inside of the giant Kree bodyguard, follow the objective marker as you jump and grapple across the ruins in order to save Bruce Banner. While it is not officially timed, you will have to reach Bruce before his health - which is indicated by the depleting bar in the top left corner - runs out. At one stage, you’ll encounter a group of AIM forces in which you can choose to completely avoid them. As you reach Bruce a cutscene will begin and the remaining events will be quick time button prompts.

Defeat the Kree

Following the onscreen button prompts, defeat Kree. Once Kree has been defeated, a cutscene will begin and the game will end.

TIP: Don’t walk away from the screen just yet, as after the credits have finished rolling, you’ll witness a bonus cutscene that showcases what you can expect from the game next!

Congratulations, after defeating the giant Kree you will have finished the main campaign of Marvels Avengers.
