This is a great film but I thought it was about a girl, and her pet Cricket, because of the name Fanchon the Cricket. Love this performance by Mary Pickford would have loved if Fox made this movie with Shirley Temple it would have been great as she did a lot of Pickfordina's films her world for her not mine the films she remade of Mary Pickford films 1 was the poor little rich girl Mary PIckford version was also called the poor little rich girl 2 Curly Top Mary Pickford version was Daddy Long legs 3 Rebecca of Sunnybrook farm Mary Pickford film is also called Rebecca of Sunnybrook farm 4 the little Princess . Mary Pickford version is called a Little Princess and 5 Miss Annie Rooney Mary Pickford version is called Little Annie Rooney the last one was the only Shirley Temple film that was not as good as Mary Pickford version, and if they ever invent a time machine I would go back in time to try to convince Shirley Temple Mother to let her star in a movie with Mary Pickford that would have been one of the greatest films ever America's two Sweet hearts in one film if you have no idea what the film was about it would have been about Mary Pickford childhood with Mary Pickford playing her mother and Shirley Temple playing Mary Pickford as a child oh what could have been.

Wonderful to see this once lost film....the added music score distracts and it is best to watch mute.
