When it comes to fashion, many Silicon Valley biggies have deciphered a uniform that is simple and basic, but non-fussy and elegant at the same time. Take Steve Jobs for example. The late co-creator of Apple was rarely photographed in anything other than black turtleneck T-shirts by Issey Miyake, which he paired with a pair of jeans. Sleek and functional.
Mark Zuckerberg is similar in that way too. META’s CEO is known for his loyalty to pigeon grey T-shirts that are custom-ordered from Brunello Cucinelli. But at the recent Ambani family’s pre-wedding celebrations, the co-founder of Facebook landed in Jamnagar with a designer wardrobe. In fact, businessman, entrepreneur and billionaire Bill Gates, who was also present in Jamnagar, posed for a picture with Zuckerberg and posted it on Instagram, appreciating the tech mogul’s dressing sense. “You’ve always been great at dressing for the occasion, @zuck!” Gates wrote as his caption.

For Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s cocktail party, Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan turned up looking sharp in Alexander McQueen, even though he held on to his T-shirt identity. Zuckerberg wore a complete black look, with a black single-breasted jacket created using Japanese wool, and featuring gold-tone jewelled Dragonfly applique on the front. The jacket costs $7,000, which is approximately Rs 5.80 lakhs. He paired that with a pair of matching black pants and shoes that featured the same dragonfly embroidery.
His wife, too, donned a black Alexander McQueen evening dress that featured a hand-drawn gold embroidery with light Colorado topaz stones and silver crystals applique handwork. The dress cost 10,700 pounds, which is approximately Rs 11.23 lakhs.
For the second day of the grand festivities, Zuckerberg showed off his wild side with a hand embroidered ‘Sunderbans’ Tigress shirt from Rahul Mishra. He paired it with a pair of white trousers and white leather loafers. Priscilla Chan, on the other hand, wore a long strappy snakeskin dress from Balmain that cost about Rs 1.40 lakh.
For the night festivities, the couple, yet again, wore Rahul Mishra. Zuckerberg hit the right notes with a hand-embroidered bundi worn over a kurta and silk trousers. Pricilla too wore a lehenga set from Mishra’s spring 2023 couture collection.
Bill Gates, who dressed up pretty formally for all the festivities, dressed up in Indianwear for the night. The billionaire wore a black silk kurta with matching pants and teamed it up with an embroidered sherwani jacket, all courtesy of Label Crestelli.
Zuckerberg and Chan’s final Indian outfit was as traditional as it can get. Chan looked glamorous and elegant in a blue embroidered sheer sari by Rahul Mishra, the cost of which is approximately Rs 2.39 lakh. Zuckerberg wore an off-white sherwani with gold embroidery all over. He teamed it up with a pair of matching embroidered footwear.
The three-day festivities brought in the who’s-who of the world in Jamnagar, including billionaires and Bollywood superstars, with a special performance by Rihanna and Diljit Dosanjh.
