Jr. NBA Hoops Without Borders to hold tryouts Sunday at North Division

December 7, 2023 By MKE Community Journal Leave a Comment

The Jr. NBA Hoops Without Borders: Youth Opportunity Through Basketball program will hold tryouts for 14-18 year olds at noon on Sunday, December 10 at North Division High School, 1011 W. Center St.

Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, one of the tryout event’s sponsors, is strongly encouraging interested participants to attend the tryouts on Sunday.

“The program seeks to engage youth through basketball, help them grow as athletes and leaders, and also provide once-in-a-lifetime international travel opportunities,” Alderman Stamper said. “Please take advantage of this incredible tryout opportunity!”
Participants are encouraged to go here to register.

The program includes 15 sessions teaching basketball skills, life lessons, and cross-cultural education. Participants must meet all program requirements and remain in good standing to be eligible for international travel.
Selected participants will have the opportunity to travel to Africa in 2024 for a cross-cultural basketball exchange. There is a non-refundable $10 fee to try out for the program, due at the try out session on Sunday at NDHS.
